Welcome to the
Bridging Immigration & Employment Project
Recent labour market research conducted in Southern Alberta has indicated that some employers find it difficult to recruit workers with specific skill sets their business require; this suggests a skill shortage in some sectors. At the same time, immigrants to Canada, many of whom are highly skilled, educated and experienced in their chosen fields aren’t finding professional employment.
With a grant from the province of Alberta, the Department of Labor and Immigration, along with a commitment from more than 20 community partners, we are excited to offer a series of 8 learning events. The series is designed to provide education, support and connections to local employers, service providers, and immigrant job seekers in order to fill gaps and strengthen our economy and community. This issue has increased in importance even more as we recover from COVID-19.
Learn about the value and the long-term benefits of creating and maintaining a diverse and inclusive workplace. Join the conversation, learn new strategies and connect with immigrant community members and local employers who share this journey.
